The process — Five stages

How we work

The path we walk with you, from the first conversation to the day we hand over the keys.

Stages

Every project is different, but the method is the same: listen, draw, build, and return. These are the five steps that typically take us from an initial idea to a finished home.

01
Stage 01 / 05
Weeks 1 – 2
Discovery sessions

Conversation

We start by listening. We visit the site, meet the people who will live or work there, and learn their routines, their tastes, their aspirations. For us, there is no project without first having listened: the constraints of the plot, the habits of the family, the winter light. We come away with a notebook full of notes, photographs and, above all, a clear intent.

02
Stage 02 / 05
Weeks 3 – 6
Concept design

Sketch

First ideas are drawn by hand, on paper. We work on volumes, orientation, circulation and natural light. We study how the building sits in the terrain and how it dialogues with its surroundings. We present several alternatives, each with its own character, so you can decide which is closest to the home you imagined.

03
Stage 03 / 05
Months 2 – 4
Design development & permits

Technical project

We develop the project in depth: final drawings, structural calculations, services, energy certification, quantities and the technical report. We coordinate with specialist engineers and handle the permitting. This is the quietest stage, but the one that decides whether construction will go smoothly.

04
Stage 04 / 05
6 – 18 months
Site supervision

Construction

We accompany construction week by week. We coordinate with the builder, resolve unforeseen issues on site, and ensure every decision preserves the original intent of the project. We document progress with photographs and keep the client informed at every step. This is when paper becomes space.

05
Stage 05 / 05
Closing + reviews
Post-occupancy

Handover & follow-up

We hand over the keys, the complete documentation and the building's user manual. But we don't stop there: we come back a few months later to see how the home lives with you, what works, what we could have resolved better. Every project teaches us something we'll carry into the next.
